Birthday Boy!

So Friday night was too poppin’. Just about everyone was in attendance for Will’s 20th birthday, and for the most part the night went just right.  Good spot in the Bronx with chill people and good vibes.  Music was bumping and bottles were being popped; The strippers even came out.  All in all it was a great night, and we’re happy to have some photos to remember it by.  Shout outs to everyone who came through for my partner in crime.  More photos at the jump. Get Ready, It’s A New Day

We think we are cool over here so this New Years post comes to you fashionably late.  First and foremost, I hope everyone had a happy holiday, and got wild and crazy with their family and friends on New Years.  We made it to another year, and with that comes some resolutions as you all know.  We’ve had this blog up for a year, even when SmoothNYC was just an idea and before it was even a .Com.  Since then, a lot of progress has been made.  We’ve sponsored events, our stickers have literally been slapped all over New York, the fan base has grown tremendously, and most of all we were able to make T-shirts that people liked and were willing to purchase.  That’s truly a great feeling.

Some might say we’ve accomplished something, but I definitely don’t think so; not yet.  Our goal is far bigger and better than the few things we’ve managed to do over the last few months, and I promise all of you that there is a lot more to come.  I created SmoothNYC for myself, and we plan on using it as a vehicle to help other people that show us love on a regular basis.  We have a lot in the works right now, and in time there will be more products for sale and and new & improved website as well.  The new designs blow the first one out of the water, just to let you all know.  New York will be laced in Smooth gear this year.  That’s a small resolution of ours, among many others.

That’s a concept that people don’t seem to get; these New Years resolutions.  Everyone says there going to do something on December 31, but then as each day goes by we do nothing differently.  My advice to you is to embrace that resolution and take things one day at a time to fulfill it.  Go get it! I’m not stopping you, and believe it or not no one else is in your way either.  I’ve been sitting at this computer trying to think of something special and interesting to post, but honestly it’s better for us at SmoothNYC to just talk to you guys and thank you for the support we’ve been given.  We’ve been handed an opportunity to represent ourselves and where we are from, and I guarantee than none of our supporters will be let down.  2012 is our year and we are going to do damage.

Not just  for us, but for you.  Happy New Year.

Come Party With Us

We are linking up with Thrive Skateboard to sponsor our first event.  Come see us August 18th at the Yonkers Skatepark for some good music and good skating.  Gonna be a good time, we got some stickers that need to be spread out. Yup

Interview With NosViesNYC

I recently got the opportunity to sit down with my guy Ralphy Vies of NosViesNYC, an up and coming fashion designer who has been making major moves as of late, especially with the Spring/Summer “Bonjour Collection” we blogged about a month or two ago.  I took the chance to ask Ralphy a few things.

Kev: What does Nos Vies mean and what inspires the concept of your brand?

Ralphy: NosViesNYC means “Our Lives” in French. What this means is we are putting our lives into the clothing we make.  The NosViesNYC clothing line represents one’s individuality. We emphasize this aspect by using creativity to express our thoughts, moods, and experiences. To sum it all up, NosViesNYC represents our lives.

How long have you been in the fashion game?

We haven’t been in the fashion game for long. We’ll be in the game for a year next month; We have recently launched our first season, “Bonjour,” and are currently working on a second season.

What was your mission as you started NosViesNYC?

The goal is to achieve, which lead the name ‘Nos Vies.’  Our mission is to share our lifestyle through our passion for fashion.  Nos Vies NYC are clothing pieces that symbolize art as opposed to just clothhing.

Explain the Rosepole logo.

The Rosepole logo is comprised of two parts, a rose which symbolizes life and the pole symbolizing a ladder which we are aiming to make it to the top of in the fashion industry.

What are you working on right now?

Currently we are working on the winter season. It’ll be epic stay tuned!

Where do you see NosViesNYC in the future?

The plans for the future is just to expand, the sky isn’t the limit for us anymore.

What do you two bring to the table?

Simple: We bring creativity.

What does style mean to you, and how do you think the fashion game is developing?

Style is basically is the way one feels about themselves and how they choose to express him or herself.  As for the development of the game, it’s pretty dope. You have name brands such as Bape & Supreme just coming out with hit after hit, their seasons are real dope which helps us out as fashion designers to work harder and keep grinding.

What is next for you guys?

What next for us? The moon, we heading for the top!
